HOMESITE INSURANCE AND YOUTHBUILD USA BEGIN NATIONAL NONPROFIT PARTNERSHIP
Company commits to multi-year collaboration aimed at improving the lives of opportunity youth
BOSTON – June 12, 2019 – Homesite Insurance (Homesite) is proud to announce a multi-year partnership with YouthBuild USA, a national nonprofit that enables young people to have an opportunity to transform their lives and give back to their communities. The partnership comes with an annual $80,000 pledge, skills-based learning opportunities, and dedicated monthly volunteer hours.
“YouthBuild USA is honored to be chosen as Homesite’s national nonprofit partner,” said John Valverde, CEO of YouthBuild USA. “Together, our organizations can spread the message that every young person has the ability to succeed when given the opportunity. YouthBuild students across the United States are working to make a positive impact on their communities, just like employees at Homesite, and we’re excited to join forces.”
YouthBuild programs help unemployed and out-of-school young people ages 16 to 24 attain their High School Equivalency (HSE) or high school diploma. During that time, they also learn career skills by building affordable housing and other community assets in their neighborhoods while engaging in community service and leadership training. Graduates leave prepared for success in post-secondary education, careers and registered apprenticeships — and as part of a strong and supportive global community.
“YouthBuild USA has made a tremendous impact in changing the lives of young people in America. Their mission is something that speaks to our commitment to support access to educational programs that provide young people the opportunity to contribute positively to their communities,” said Chris Conti, Executive Vice President of Homesite. “We are proud to support YouthBuild by utilizing our 3T’s: our time, our talent, and our treasure.”
Homesite encourages its employees to give back by volunteering or making financial, clothing, or household item donations. The company’s community investment program already includes five local nonprofits where Homesite employees live and work: Habitat for Humanity of Summit County, Rosie’s Place, New England Center and Home for Veterans, Southwest Human Development,, and Ronald McDonald House Akron. Additionally, every full-time employee is allotted two full days of paid time off per year to volunteer at any nonprofit of their choice.
